Neighborhood Officer Program

Collage 1
In our continued efforts to work with everyone in our community and to address community issues at the neighborhood level the Auburn Police Department has implemented the Neighborhood Officer Program. The City of Auburn has been divided into 17 reporting districts that are roughly aligned with the 23 neighborhoods that have already been created in the Nextdoor.com platform. Each of our patrol officers will be assigned two reporting districts to act as the Problem-Oriented Policing officer to those residents and businesses in their respective reporting districts.

The implementation of this program has each officer sending out an introduction message via our Nextdoor.com platform, which currently reaches approximately 43%, or 7,373 of households, in the City of Auburn. This will be one of the primary forms of communication to the neighborhoods. However, we understand not everyone has access to the platform or even wants to. Officers also have their business emails and phone numbers available for contact.

As a reminder, if you are in need of immediate and urgent police assistance please call 9-1-1 or the Auburn Police Department business line at . The officers are assigned to their regular duty shifts and may not be available in the event of an emergency. The Nextdoor.com platform is not monitored 24/7 and should not be used as an alternative to 9-1-1 for emergencies.
